Making kids eat

I am sure all of us find it difficult to make our picky kids eat food. A few recipes I would like to share that may help. Kids shy away from veggies usually. so, either choose to mash or give veggies in an invisible form.

Vegetable paratha
In a food processor, pulse together mint leaves, ginger, green chillies (if required) , coriander leaves. Boil veggies (Carrots, beans, cauliflower, and any other vegetables of your choice) for around 10-12 minutes. Add the veggies and pulse it a few more times. Then add salt, wheat flour and make a firm dough. If required add a little water to make the dough soft and firm. Roll out into chapatis and serve with Curds.

Vegetable soup
In a big saute pan, add finely chopped onions and 1 clove of garlic. Saute until the onions turn translucent. Then add crushed tomatoes (either canned or fresh) and saute for a couple more minutes. Then add chopped veggies (cut into cubes - Carrots, beans, potatoes, zucchini, and any veggie of your choice). Fry for a few more minutes. Add salt and crushed black pepper. If you have it handy, add soaked, cooked rajma beans or you can choose to buy canned red beans. Add some shell pasta or macroni pasta into it. Add plenty of water and cook with closed lid in low heat until veggies and pasta are cooked. Serve hot with some bread. My daughter and my niece love this soup especially when served with fresh bread from Panera.
